Peter “Bill””Snorky” Struth.
I have been a member of 3WAY for the past 25 years, starting out with ‘Party on the Patio’ on a Monday night 10 to midnight with Snork & the Badman aka Peter Goodman. This was a great time slot to start out in on our radio journey; we stayed in this slot for a number of years before moving to 4-6 on a Tuesday which remained for a quite a few years; the Badman bailed out a few years back. Throughout my time I have presented a number of shows: ‘Breakfast On A Monday’, ‘Thank God It’s Friday’, also co-presented ‘Headless Chickens’, ‘Spirit of Australia’ and filled in on a number of programs: ‘Southbound’, ‘Saturday Jazz’, ‘The Music’s Fine’ to name just a few. The current slot for ‘P O T P’ o n a Thursday has been there for the last 15 years or so , and now for the past 3 years with my partner Jo / Buzz Merriman. When it comes to musical types or influences there are just too many to chose…rock, pop, roots, country, jazz… music that makes me sing and tap along or slow right down and be soulful with feeling. Who knows, it’s all good and worth airtime. That’s why I keep showing up each week as we all do; talk a bit, play a bit and have fun. I will say my most played artist would be The Tragically Hip and Van Morrison gets a run each week. Over my time with the station I have served on the Committee at different times, also as President and have arranged fundraising events such as the Hank night, trivia and social events. Long live 3WAY.
Cheers, Snorky.
